Admission to one of our homes is through referral to our referrals team using the contact details on this website. We strive to answer your referral enquiry as quickly as possible and we always carry out the following checks before admission:

  • A review of the young person’s history and circumstances
  • An assessment as to whether the young person meets the home’s general admission criteria
  • An assessment related to the composition of the home’s current residents
  • Arrangements for education provision

Same day admissions will be accepted, provided that the above information has been supplied and at least one hour is required in which to consider the appropriateness of the placement.

Wherever possible admissions should be planned to ensure each placement has the best possible start.

Our aim is to match the needs of each individual young person placed in our care. We review each young person’s placement plan regulary through consultation with the young person, their parent(s) or the person with parental responsibility, social worker, LAC nurse and the LAC education co-ordinator. This ensures that the plan is appropriate and relevant to the young person’s needs. Although the placement plan is monitored within the home on a day by day, week by week basis and is discussed with social workers in weekly updates, the plan would be formally reviewed every three months at a minimum.
